Lambert Leclezio – profile

Lambert Leclezio (b. 1997) is a Mauritian vaulter, thrice World Champion, and the men’s world ranking number 1.

He was the first athlete to represent Mauritius at the World Equestrian Games when he competed at the 2014 Games in Caen and finished 6th. In 2018, Lambert switched nationality to French.

Lambert competed in the 2015 World Championships for juniors and won individual bronze medal. He took a serious step onto the seniors’ stage when he became individual World Champion in 2016 in Le Mans.

An achievement he repeated at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon – and once again when he won the 2020 (held 2021) World Championships in Budapest!

The young vaulter will therefore take the stage in Herning as the reigning world champion in what will be his final season of competitive individual vaulting!

Most recently, Lambert won silver at the 2022 World Cup Final in Leipzig.
