Cathrine’s parents bought Cassidy when he was 6 years old, when Cathrine was 17 years old, and she is her parents eternal grateful for keeping Cassidy in the family all these years.

An era is about to end, and for certain there will not be many dry eyes at Stutteri Ask Stadium tonight, when excerpts from the pair’s beautiful Grand Prix Freestyle, which has brought them so much international success will be shown.

“He really just is my highlight every single day with the horses, and I love him more than anything. He has taught me so much,” Cathrine explains.
With Cassidy, she has been on a fantastic journey from junior gold medals to senior medals at the European Championships.
And in spite of being in a league of their own in the junior years, Cassidy was not the most obvious Grand Prix star, Cathrine explains. She has worked with Cassidy with great focus alongside what she describes as an “Awesome team of trainers” throughout the years. With curiosity and openness towards understanding the horse, they created an international Grand Prix horse.

“By working with the talents, the horse is given naturally, you can go really far, and I think Cassidy is a great example of that. And then he has just taught me love of the sport, and love of competing as well as the daily training. He is the entire cornerstone in my love of the equestrian sport. He is completely unique and will likely be the most special horse I have had and will ever have”, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour ends.
